James Daniel Jordan has served as the 4th congressional district’s representative in the US Congress since 2007. In addition to currently coaching college wrestling, he was a wrestler in his earlier years.

Jordan, a Republican, is a founding member of the Libertarian House Freedom Caucus and served as the group’s first chair from 2015 to 2017, and since 2017, he has been the vice chair.

From 2019 to 2020, he served as the House Oversight Committee’s ranking member and later, left that position to take the ranking member  on the House Judiciary Committee, which he held until 2023 when he rose to the position of chair.

In high school and college, Jessie was a standout athlete who excelled at golf. She received the Southwestern Ohio Player of the Year award and placed sixth in the Division II Ohio State High School Golf Championship. Born in June 1989, Ben  was an outstanding wrestler who followed in his father’s footsteps. While a high school student, he won three state titles and was awarded the team MVP three times.

At the University of Wisconsin, where he participated, he won the 165-pound weight division and finished eighth nationally. Ben married Kelly Whitley in June 2018 and afterwards relocated to Chagrin Falls in northeastern Ohio.

Isaac  is a University of Wisconsin alumnus who works as an assistant wrestling coach at Indiana University in Bloomington. He was a well-known wrestler in high school and college, taking home three state titles and finishing with a 154-9 record.

In the 2016–2017 season, he finished fourth in both the Big Ten Championships and the NCAA Championships and was selected four times to the All-American team. He was employed by Indiana University as an assistant coach in 2018.

The youngest of her four children, Rachel Salisbury, was born in 1987 and has kept a quiet profile. In 2005, in the Division II State Track & Field Championships, she competed in the 4800 relay race while still a high school student. She is married to Chris Salisbury, a member of the American Army, and they have two children.

Jordan, the son of Shirley and John Jordan, was born and raised in Champaign County, Ohio, on born February 17, 1964. As of 2023, he is 59.

He graduated from Graham High School in 1982 and participated in wrestling there. He amassed a 156-1 win-loss record while in high school and won state championships each of his four years.

The politician subsequently attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he won the NCAA Division I wrestling championship twice. Jordan won the 134-pound (61 kg) weight division NCAA championship matches in 1985 and 1986.

The former wrestler graduated from  Ohio State University with a master’s in education, and the Capital University Law School awarded him a Juris Doctor. Jordan said he never took the bar exam in an interview from 2018.

From 1987 through 1995, Jordan worked as an assistant wrestling coach for the Ohio State University team, while Richard Strauss served as the team’s doctor during that time. In July 2018, a number of former wrestlers charged Jordan with being aware of Strauss’ alleged abuse but remaining silent.

The Republican ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 from the conservative 4th district of Ohio, and he received 60% of the vote in both the Republican primary and the regular election.

In 2008 and 2010, Jim received second term. Jim Jordan received at least two-thirds of the vote in the majority of the elections and was re-elected in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020.

During the 2013 government shutdown, he presided as chairman of the House Republican Study Committee and was its most influential member. 

Daniel actively worked to undermine inquiries into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and organized a sit-in to block a hearing for a Trump impeachment inquiry.
